Ask me about trade marksSamantha is a Solicitor and registered Trade Mark Attorney who has a broad range of legal transactional experience and has managed a large variety and volume of legal matters as both an in-house corporate lawyer and in private practice.

As Principal of a boutique sole practice, Samantha drafts, reviews and negotiates commercial contracts, services agreements and licensing arrangements for her clients, including in relation to Intellectual Property and Brand Management, as well as providing specialist assistance with trade mark filing and prosecution. Samantha also assists clients in dispute resolution matters involving infringement of clients’ intellectual property assets.

Samantha has private clients in a range of industries including online retailing of beauty products and fashion items, health sector, product design, manufacturing and distribution of alcoholic beverages, coffee roasting and cafés, software companies and book publishers.

Samantha also provides corporate in-house legal counsel services on fixed-term contracts, with particular specialisation in commercial research, IT and health/pharmaceutical sectors.

Samantha’s in-house roles have seen her working as Senior Legal Counsel – Telix Pharmaceuticals; Legal Counsel, Corporate Legal Team – Law Society of New South Wales; Senior Lawyer – Garvan Institute of Medical Research; Sole in-house Legal Counsel at Streem (a media monitoring business); Senior Commercial Counsel at the Australian Nuclear Science and Technology Organisation (ANSTO); and Legal Counsel – University of Wollongong.  Samantha has also worked in general commercial & IP private practice at Andreyev Lawyers, and at Pym’s Technology Lawyers a with a focus on serving clients in the ICT sector.

In 2023, Samantha lectured Contract Law as a sessional tutor, University of Wollongong and
2022, lectured part-time at University of Wollongong, delivering the Intellectual Property subject to undergraduate students, a course she also delivered in 2016.

She holds an LLB, as well as a Master’s degree in Intellectual Property and a Master’s degree in Applied Law (major in commercial transactions).

Samantha previously worked in the fields of arts, education and training and holds a degree and post-graduate qualifications in visual arts and education.

In her spare time, Samantha maintains her interest in visual arts and enjoys hiking and sea-kayaking.
